The president of Volkswagen announced it a couple of months ago and now we have confirmation: this year the new generation of the Passat will arrive and it will have a plug-in hybrid version.
The Volkswagen Passat, the legendary saloon of the German group, will present its eighth edition this year, and will be accompanied by a plug-in hybrid version, as the company itself has announced.
Volkswagen has chosen the next Paris Motor Show, to be held in October, to make the public presentation of its new version. Its release is scheduled for the fall.
At the moment, few features have been revealed. We know that the plug-in hybrid version of the Passat will have a total power of 211 horsepower, delivered jointly by a 156-hp TSI gasoline engine and supported by a 109-hp electric. The declared autonomy in electric cycle is 50 kilometers, and up to 1,000 in gasoline.
In terms of equipment, Volkswagen will include all its technological advances in the plug-in hybrid Passat, including a 12.3-inch touch screen for managing and configuring its navigation system.
It will also be possible to include cruise control, capable of stopping and restarting the march, emergency braking system, assisted parking and lane change control.
At the moment we do not know its appearance in terms of design, although no major changes are expected.
